Protected by the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, the Shell Point Beach community offers only limited developable land.
Its white sand beach is great for sunbathing and the shallow waters of Apalachee Bay and the Gulf of
Mexico are added protection when swimming with children. Wind surfing and sailing are year round
recreational pleasures.
Shell Point Beach has several unique features that make it different from other Gulf Coast communities along
Florida’s Big Bend and Forgotten Coast. It has the largest mooring port between Tampa and Panama City with a
capacity for 300 pleasure crafts to be docked at its marinas.
